Introducing Sancya

I was born with the name Lara Charlotte in Aotearoa, New Zealand and descend from settler colonisers of mostly English, Irish and Scottish lineage.

In 2023 at the end of a very intensive transformation I was given the name Sancyanata by Balinese High Priest, Pak Jero to support the rebirth of my karmic path. The name means “love that gives strength to bring peace on earth”.

I now go by Sancya for short.

In 2012 I left a corporate career due to a personal health crisis and have since immersed in a journey of soul remembrance, transformational healing and devotional service.

I spent over 5 years in full-time training with traditional shamanic plant medicines in the Peruvian Amazon and am approaching a decade of consistent apprenticeship in these ways. I also co-founded a retreat centre in Peru working with hundreds of guests in deep transformational processes.

I am trained to be trauma informed and hold a space for others that is mindful of diversity, western mental health frameworks and the ongoing process of personal awakening throughout our lives and across generations.

Sancya is a devoted lover of the mythic realms that are discovered in deep relationship with self, body, nature and story across time and space.

My current work draws on the range of modalities listed here and is adapted to suit the unique needs of each person and situation. I have also featured on various podcasts and present to workshops and trainings when invited.
